How to understand your results
What is the GRESB Score?
The GRESB score is an overall measure of ESG performance – represented as a percentage of a 100 percent maximum. The score is further divided into two dimensions: Management & Policy and Implementation & Measurement.
While your GRESB Score gives you quantitative insight into your ESG performance in absolute terms, over time and against your peers, it is only a single element within a broad range of indicators that make up your results. It is important to dig deeper into your results in order to access a richer, more complete narrative about how well you are doing.
What is the GRESB Rating?
The GRESB Rating is based on the GRESB Score and its quintile position relative to the GRESB universe, with annual calibration of the model. If the entity is placed in the top quintile, it will be a GRESB 5 Star rated entity; if it ranks in the bottom quintile, it will be a GRESB 1 Star rated entity, etc.
As the GRESB Rating is calculated relative to the global performance of reporting entities, it shows you exactly where you stand on a global scale.
How many GRESB 5 Star rated entities are there?
Each year, 20% of entities will receive a GRESB 5 Star rating. GRESB 5 Stars is the highest rating and a recognition for being an industry leader.
What is the GRESB Green Star designation?
Unlike the GRESB Rating, which is a relative rating, the GRESB Green Star is a rating on absolute performance.
Entities with scores higher than 50 on both the Implementation & Measurement and the Management & Policy dimensions are rated a “Green Star” and can communicate their position as such.
The Green Star designation is not accompanied by a Green Star logo.
What is the GRESB Sector Leader Awards Program?
