Greetings to our GRESB Americas community

After an incredibly busy GRESB reporting season, we hope you are all enjoying some well-deserved rest and relaxation. On behalf of the entire GRESB Americas team, I want to extend a huge congratulations to all our Participants and Partners on another successful submission process. The work required to progress any industry forward is extensive and we acknowledge and appreciate the time and effort put in by all of you. That being said, wee are planning for a busy results season ahead, validating submitted data, preparing benchmark reports and scorecards, and before the final GRESB Results are released in early October, there are a number of related activities to bring to your attention.

Please make sure you have explored the Customized Peer Group functionality, available only a short while longer until August 15, 00:00 UTC. The ability to add your firm’s perspective to a comparable peer on your Benchmark Report has been one of the most successful enhancements GRESB has offered in recent years, so don’t miss your chance to participate in that process. Access is via the GRESB Portal.

Preliminary Benchmark Reports are scheduled to be released in early September. We strongly encourage all Participants to closely review their Preliminary Report and raise any issues during the Review Period.

Be sure to plan to join the GRESB Americas community this fall at our Results Events. Several locations are being planned and we are very thankful for the wonderful hosting Partners who give us all a chance to network and celebrate continued progress. Yardi on the role of technology adoption in maintaining real asset value

The increasing importance of ESG performance in property management and its impact on investment decisions bring a new focus on adopting technology to enhance results and sustain asset value. Technology can help elevate an energy strategy by improving energy efficiency, reducing energy usage, and incorporating automation to save money and time. This can also solve the biggest challenge in real estate ESG reporting – greenhouse gas data aggregation and accuracy.

Aggregating data for sustainability, property management and investment management can lead to improved operations and tenant behavior, and significant energy savings. Since this results in increased building value and reduced investment risk as associated with less sustainable properties, companies should consider how to utilize data to best effect in their decision-making process.
