— THE GRESB HEALTH & WELL-BEING MODULE —
Evaluates how property companies and funds are promoting health and well-being in their internal operations and through the real estate products and services they offer to customers.
The Module is an optional supplement to the globally recognized GRESB Real Estate Assessment.
What is the GRESB Health & Well-being Module?
The Health & Well-being Module provides participating companies and funds with practical tools for assessing and benchmarking the actions they are taking to promote health and well-being. The Module is predicated on the recognition that health and well-being is emerging as an important source of both risk and opportunity for property investors and companies.
The Module has two areas of focus:
- Internal health promotion refers to policies and actions focused directly on a real estate company’s own workforce.
- External health promotion refers to intentional actions taken by companies and funds to improve the health and well-being of their tenants, customers and the communities surrounding their real estate assets.
This parallel focus allows investors and participating companies and funds to differentiate action to benefit internal operations from action to create value through products and services.
The Module includes 8 indicators addressing leadership, policy, needs assessment, implementation action and performance monitoring related to health and well-being.

GRESB Real Estate Investor Members
Over 70 pension funds and their fiduciaries use GRESB data and analytical tools in their investment management and engagement process to optimize the risk/return profile of their investments. The Module enables you to report to investors on the actions you are taking to promote health and well-being.
Assessment Process and Results
The Assessment Portal opens on April 1 each year. GRESB participants start with the GRESB Real Estate Assessment or the GRESB Developer Assessment and then opt-in to the Health & Well-being Module. The Module appears as a separate section in the GRESB Portal Real Estate “Navigation Bar” and participation is voluntary.
Once all Assessments have been submitted and the Assessment Portal has closed, GRESB begins the process of validating and scoring the Health & Well-being responses.
The Assessment Results are launched in September each year and participants receive an individual GRESB Health & Well-being Scorecard for each reporting entity. This score will not have any impact on the entity’s GRESB Score in 2018.
