IGCC 2019 – Climate Change Investment and Finance Summit
October 14, 2019 | 12:00 pm – October 15, 2019 | 4:30 pm
The Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) 2019 Summit is a unique event where institutional investors come together to discuss climate change risks and opportunities and the implications for policy and investment practice.
The theme of the IGCC 2019 Summit is: Catalysing Action on Climate Change.
The recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on the effects of global warming of 1.5 °C has brought a new urgency to tackling climate change and meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Climate change is now widely recognised as a significant financial risk for business and investors, and financial regulators are calling for financial players to act. Climate change policy and politics are moving into a new phase.
Market practice has accelerated. Getting the transition right will create significant new investment opportunities. Increasing resilience to the physical effects of climate change is increasingly important for protecting long term returns. Active engagement is key.
Against this backdrop of heightened urgency, a changed policy landscape and more investor action on climate, IGCC will again bring together leading experts and market practitioners to unpack and discuss the latest and next generation of investor practice on climate change.
Rick Walters, Director, Infrastructure at GRESB, will present results from the 2019 Resilience Module and provide high-level industry insights – complementing the detailed scenario analysis and methodology that will be discussed during the summit.
